Statistics show that 29% of people surveyed plan to take a winter break this year, with booking numbers having increased by 16% year-on-year. According to ABTA’s research, 42% of people have either booked or are considering booking a winter trip this year. From research conducted by Jet2holidays and MSC Cruises, the Canary Islands are proving popular for long-stay winter holidays.

• City breaks (22%)
• Caribbean (21%)
• Asia (17%)
• UK breaks (14%)
• Ski holidays (9%)
• Cruises (5%)
• Christmas market breaks (4%)
• Northern Lights (4%)
Overall bookings are reported to be up by a third on 2022, proving the high demand for that end-of-year sun. From these bookings, the second highest age range purchasing winter holidays are those aged 65 and over (33%).
